AUTHENTIC CUBAN BREAD

Our signature product and our claim to fame!  Our Cuban Bread, shortly after arriving in the market, became the “Cuban Bread” featured in most super market chains in Florida, where is usually one of the top selling items in their bakeries.  Our traditional Cuban Bread (10 oz) is made with the highest quality ingredients and in the artisan style for great texture, look and taste.  The frozen dough loaf comes in a 50-unit case, to be proofed and baked in your premises and sold as “freshly baked”.  We currently offer three Cuban Bread varieties for our diverse customer base:  the traditional loaf with lard flavor, a healthier version made with soybean oil and our new Kosher Cuban Bread.

 

Cuban Bread, which has a light color crust, soft thick dough and a rich flavor, is ideal for sandwiches and to accompany meals.  It is also very popular for breakfast, eaten warm with butter and “café con leche”(coffee and milk). In Florida, many non-Hispanics are introduced to this delicious bread through the Cuban Sandwich, an ubiquitous item in delis and cafeterias all over the state.  Once tried, you are “hooked’ on its flavor and texture!  No wonder it has become the unofficial “Florida Bread”, loved by all Hispanic groups and the mainstream population of the state!  These days, Cuban Bread has moved beyond Florida and is now present in bakeries and food outlets in many Hispanic areas of the country.

CUBAN ROLLS

South Florida Bakery offers the same recipe of its signature Cuban Bread loaf as dinner rolls (3 oz), sandwich rolls (6 oz), and mini rolls versions (1.2 oz). These three frozen dough products, which can also be customized to our customers’ individual preferences, come in the following pack sizes:

  • Cuban Rolls: 128 units
  • Cuban Sandwich Rolls: 100 units
  • and Mini Cuban Rolls: 112 units.

MEDIA NOCHE ROLLS & PAN DE GLORIA

The Media Noche roll is a unique sweet yellow roll (3 oz) that is a key item in every Cuban bakery.  This sandwich roll has a golden soft crust, a soft, egg rich yellow dough and a sweet flavor.  It is the defining element for the taste of the famous Cuban Sandwich for which is used and which gives the roll its name, the Media Noche Sandwich. The Media Noche Sandwich has the same ingredients as the traditional Cuban Sandwich (Swiss cheese, baked ham, roast pork, dill pickles, mayonnaise and butter). It is basically a smaller Cuban sandwich made in this sweet soft roll.   The sandwich’s name “Media Noche”, which means “midnight”, is believed to come from the fact that it was a popular late night snack in the busy Havana nightlife of the 1940s & ‘50s.   The roll works beautifully with any combination of cold cuts, and thus has become a popular bakery item throughout Florida, the Caribbean basin and in Hispanic areas in the U.S.  Our Media Noche Rolls come in packs of 120 frozen dough units.

 

The Cuban Pan de Gloria rolls (3 oz) are sweet rolls traditionally eaten for breakfast or snacks.  This snail shell shaped roll has a golden soft crust, a soft dough, and a rich sweet taste.  Once baked, it is soaked in a light sugar and anise syrup.  Our Pan de Gloria case pack comes with 48 frozen dough rolls.

PUERTO RICAN BREAD

The Puerto Rican Bread is the island’s version of the “Pan de Agua” (water bread) one finds all over the Spanish Caribbean.  It is similar to the Cuban Bread in look and texture, with its light color crust and soft dough, yet larger (11 oz) and with a slightly sweeter taste.  Our artisan version has the crust sprinkled with cornmeal, as it has been traditionally made in the southern part of the island.  This frozen dough loaf comes in a case of 50 units.

PAN SOBAO & MALLORCA

Pan Sobao & Mallorca rolls are popular Puerto Rican bakery items.  The Pan Sobao (Puerto Rican Sweet Bread) is a soft bread, with a golden color soft crust, thick dough and a rich sweet taste. It is very popular in Puerto Rico, where is eaten by itself or in sandwiches, mostly for breakfast or as a snack.  This smaller thicker loaf (9 oz), is usually sold at retail in packs of two loaves. Mallorca rolls are sweet rolls traditionally eaten for breakfast or snacks.  This snail shell shaped bread, is the same sweet, soft roll as the Cuban Pan de Gloria.  The difference between these two Caribbean bakery items is that the Mallorca, once baked, it is sprinkled on top with a thick coat of powdered sugar, not soaked in syrup like the Cuban Pan de Gloria.  These two Puerto Rican bread varieties come in a 60-count pack (Pan Sobao) and a 48-count pack (Mallorca Rolls), as frozen dough, to be baked in your premises and sold as “Freshly Baked”.

COLOMBIAN BREAD

Our Colombian Bread (14oz), is an artisan high quality traditional “Pan Aliñado” (“Seasoned Colombian Bread”), the most popular of the many breads that come from this Andean country, with strong ties to the Caribbean basin.  This yellow, egg rich bread, has a golden soft crust, soft dough and a sweet taste.  It is eaten for breakfast with “café con leche”(coffee and milk), and for snacks, particularly warm with butter as a “night snack.” Our Colombia Bread case comes with 40 frozen dough loaves.

CUBAN CRACKERS

Our Cuban Crackers are made in the traditional large size found in small bakeries.  They have a light color, are sturdy in texture and have a unique savory taste. This artisan “par baked” item, is quickly finished off in the oven, to be sold as “freshly baked”, usually in 10-12 unit packs.  Cuban Crackers are very popular as a snack, to accompany a meal, or with butter, cream cheese and fruit jellies for breakfast.  They are also eaten with cream cheese and fruit preserves for dessert.  Our artisan style Cuban Crackers come in a case with 90 par baked crackers.
